When John was off work last week, we took a trip to Kamakura (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamakura,_Kanagawa), which is about an hour outside of Tokyo. It was really nice to get out of the city. Kamakura has a long history and has many ancient shrines and temples. We took a trail through the woods to see the sites. There was some serious hiking involved. We walked from about 9 am until 5 pm, so we were exhausted by the time we got home.
There are some pictures of the Hase-dera temple, which is a place that I have to go back to in late Spring/Summer. They had an entire section of hydrangeas that had lost of all of their flowers. The leaves were pretty, but I would love to see what it looks like in full bloom.
Enjoy the pictures!
